On July 1, 2024, the European Union-funded research project “Excellence in Human-Centered Logistics 4.0” (X-HuLog4.0) is funded by Horizon Europe – Widening participation and strenghtening the European Research Area programme. This project aims to develop strategies for capability building and network creation in the field of Logistics 4.0, while advancing knowledge on human-centered logistics systems to promote digitally supported logistics and warehousing practices across Europe.
As project coordinator, VILNIUS TECH is working closely with internationally renowned research institutions: the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, the Technical University of Darmstadt, and Saarland University. The project is led by Prof. Dr. Aurelija Burinskienė from the Faculty of Business Management at VILNIUS TECH.
The X-HuLog4.0 project, part of the EU’s Horizon Europe program, focuses on advancing human-centered digital logistics. It aims to blend digital transformation with sustainable practices, emphasizing human welfare within supply chains. Key objectives include enhancing logistics efficiency and resilience, aligning with European Green Deal goals, and fostering innovations in digital and sustainable logistics technologies. This project brings together interdisciplinary experts and stakeholders to achieve a smart, eco-friendly supply chain that prioritizes human engagement and safety while leveraging cutting-edge technologies for logistics operational improvement.
The objective of the project is to define strategies for building capabilities and establishing networks in the area of human-centered Logistics 4.0. The project aims to deepen our knowledge in the field of human-centered logistics systems and to contribute to the advancement and adoption of logistics and warehousing best practices across Europe.
